Third Day has Gomers, Unhindered has…?
Hey Unhindered fans… I think we need to come up with some sort of creative name for you guys. For instance, Third Day has Gomers… Why can’t we have something cool like that? Anyway, things have been going great lately. The past several weekends have kept us very busy and things look to be staying that way for a while so be sure to check out the calendar and come out and worship with us whenever we’re nearby. In other news, alot of people have been asking about the next Unhindered record. We released City Streets a few years ago and we agree… it’s about that time. We’ve been in the studio kicking out some demos pretty strong writing for a new record which looks like we’ll record starting sometime in April. So everyone get ready… more cool music coming your way. Hey Christian!
Joahnna here from Canada! I love UNHINDERED. Truly, I adore you guys. Thank God for your lives! I have seen how you’ve touched kids through your music. As a youth leader, I have seen how music can make a change in someone’s life. I have volunteered last year at ATF-Hamilton and I was able to get a chance to see and hear you all up close! I am really praying I can make it to the Tijuana trip this summer. I heard you guys are coming.
Anyhow, I am thinking of a cool name to name us. Hmm, there were lots of names I can think of. But I need to know why you named your first record, CITY STREETS? Maybe, we can get something/more ideas from it…

Okay so I think my favorite so far is “moogies.” not for any particular reason… Just dig it.
Far as the record title, it has to do with the phrase ” from cathedral walls to city streets” referring to worship not being confined to the walls of the church.

I like what bigbro put about “UFOs” Unhindered Fans—- How about UFWs Unhindered Fans Woshiping?
Or something about City Streets? When I went to ATF Minneapolis this year I was shocked at some of the city streets and the people in them. My mom used to live close to Hennepin Avenue, which was pretty bad. And now, nice hotels and wonderful people are there… I was shocked at how God could change that City Street.
I feel called to change more of them.

COBBLESTONES?
WHY:
Cobblestones = road stones used to pave city streets in 1400’s or 1500’s
Cob = Origin of the word COB: Denoting a STRONG MAN OR LEADER. Underlying sense appears to be “ROUNDED, STURDY.”
(Describing US as being strong leaders of this generation)
Le = Forming nouns having or originally having a DIMINUTIVE/Unusually Small sense.
(Describing US as being small in a sense that our God is a big God.
Thus the word: COBBLE.
(Describing US that when we join as one, we build one sturdy road [Thus, city streets] because we need not only to go to city streets and preach the gospel… We are the city streets and it is our job to make the streets of the world our own!)

And I believe I really like this name. ^_^

And yeah, one more thing… Panheads’ name is derived from Skillet’s name. Gomer’s name was inspired by one song of Third Day I believe called Gomer’s Theme. Maybe for us we can try a name derived from your first album! =D

Thanks Ida and Natalie! And you know what, one thing that really inspired me is these words and prayer of wisdom and encouragement from this devotional book I am reading called A PASSIONATE LIFE. It says:
“Jesus, I love You. I thank You for Your kindness toward me. I thank you that you see the need I have to STAND FIRM. Thank you for inviting me to stand on SOLID GROUND. I want to STAND with you. I want that FIRM FOOTING. Amen.”
And you know what I thought of after reading this? JESUS IS OUR ROCK! That we should stand and be strong and sturdy like Him! It indeed made the name COBBLESTONES quite symbolic and have a more deeper meaning. THE ROCK IS JESUS! TO HIM IS WHERE WE STAND. FIRMLY!

I have 2 that I have put alot into…
actually on is “Unhindefied.” many have given me compliments on it. I also think it works because Unhindered has “Unhindefied” us with their music. They have opened us up to God.
they deserve a name like that.
My second, is “Warriors”.
This is because…
We are all warriors of Christ. We fight with todays society and media to try to stay pure and christian like.
We fight against the devil and sins. And listen to Unhindered to help us battle through this mission.
We are the Warriors of Unhindered.

i just think it would be weird to say… I am a COBBLESTONE, i mean, will you have time to explain why you are a cobblestone for unhindered? I think its a nice name, and johanna did good, however, i still think there is to much thought in it.

Thanks guys! I guess it is because we are very much influenced by UNHINDERED’s first album that’s why almost most of us agree with it. COBBLESTONES really is a cool name for me. but you decide guys. All I know is that I want to stick to the concept of the first album like what Christian said, “from cathedral walls to city streets” referring to worship not being confined to the walls of the church… In my life, I want to be like them too. To somehow travel the world and just share your passion. You know what?! I am actually having this crazy thought of how you people look like. It must be crazy if we all be in one event and just worship! With UNHINDERED of course!
By the way, I agree with Courtney. I really would like to have a Myspace page for us. I thought of it before but I didn’t have time. We need someone to have the time to update stuffs and all. Maybe Courtney can do it. And yeah, well, it is still all up to you and unhindered which name is gonna be used. I am just thrilled to know people like the COBBLESTONES idea but you decide.

And yeah, for Jaycee… I think being able to share what COBBLESTONES mean is being able to share our passion for Unhindered and its ministry. It is also a possible way to share Jesus and the meaning of going out and sharing the gospel to all nations. But if you do not really like it, it’s ok. I am not pushing it. =) I like the concept of UNHINDERFIED too. ^_^ I really find it absolutely cool. Guess it’s up with everybody and the guys. I really adore your passion over the band. ^_^ They must be super blessed by you.

Unhindered LOVES Apple and its products… They also LOVE God…
We love God too…
Adam and Eve ate apples… and in many parts of the bible where fruit is, I automatically think of apples…
I think it sounds dumb… it doesnt have as much background as the “WARRIORS” or “COBBLESTONES”… but it has sentimental meaning to the bible, us, and mainly, UNHINDERED…

Well, that’s sad. I just felt kind of downhearted being seen the concept of COBBLESTONES being “rock where people spit their gum and spit…” by SOME.
Well, if you put that in cognitive restructuring and look at the positive side, Christians are always persecuted, Even Jesus! “GOVERNOR SOLDIERS SPAT ON JESUS…” Matthew 27:30 But even people do that, they won’t be able to stop us from loving Jesus and being strong and sturdy for this generation. Being a COBBLESTONE doesn’t only mean a passion for UNHINDERED but also a passion for JESUS. That even we are persecuted and rejected and “STEPPED ON” we continue the race with grace.
For now, I don’t really care anymore. I love both names. I’ll stick with anything. I just felt really downhearted after having seen the concept of COBBLESTONES as something negative. I think we should all go for UNHINDERFIED so at least EVERYBODY is happy with it. 0_o

Hey guys. Thanks for all the suggestions. This is exactly the type of dialog we were hoping to generate with the blog!
