Airport Dining

Apr 22, 2008 in Uncategorized

So….as I sit in the Denver Airport with my closest friends in the world, I am intrigued on all of the great restaurants that are found throughout the airport’s of America.  Some of my favorites include McDonald’s (I know it is a little trashy, but those fries are unbelievable!!), Cinnabon, Panda Express (I know it’s not real Chinese food, but I still buy it!) , Sbarro, Chick-fil-a (ohhhh….we love this place) & Taco Bell (this was a great late night college place, and it has stayed a part of my lifestyle ever since I graduated).  For coffee, I always stick to the most consistent place in the world…Starbuck’s (the iced caramel macchiato takes me to heaven and back….I love it!).   I know that we probably spend a lot more time in the airport than the average American, but I’d love to know what some of your favorite airport restaurant spots are……

Kids

This weekend we ran into the Sanctus Real guys again (we’re fans :) and Matt was mentioning that he and the drummer were both about to have a baby… His second! So I just got to thinking about the day that the Unhindered boys get them some chillin and what that will be like. Though a long way away probably, you never know I guess. I sometimes think about the privilege we have to travel around the world and see so many awesome places (like Breckenridge, CO where I write from now! :) and how one day I want to be able to share that with my kids. So lately I’ve been saving all my hotel room keys and writing the city, date, and venue on them to have one day to do just that. So what are some awesome things God’s put in your life or dreams you hope to reach you want to share with your kids when the day comes?

Home

So this might be the first actual serious post we’ve done on here… well it’s sort of serious I guess. We just got home from the great Nashvegas where we led for an Acquire the Fire event there. It was an awesome weekend as usual. We had alot of friends come up with us or visit us while we were in town. Our friend Miriam from Atlanta came up and sang with us and for once, we were able to kind of share a taste of what it is we do when we disappear from home all the time. As for normal life back home, a bunch of us went to see an awesome artist by the name of Dave Barnes who was in town tonight. It’s always so much fun to be able to go to a club somewhere and hear some great music after you’ve had the big ol’ ROCK SHOW screaming in your face all weekend. Anyways, all of this to say he is def one of our faves and you should all go check out his music and what he does… maybe… buy a CD???? (pinky to lip)  So for now, I’m lying in bed with Jack (Jack the dog! What were you thinking??? Wow…) about to get some shut eye before I hit the studio tomorrow. All in all… just a good weekend.  Let’s hear about you guys’ weekends… Family? Travel? Relaxing? Dave Barnes shows? Peace! Christian

What is that smell?

Apr 04, 2008 in Uncategorized

As I sit here in this hotel room, I have to ask myself…”self…why do hotels always have green carpet and smell like thrift stores?” This is truly an enigma. It’s as if someone took some old sweater, figured out a way to reproduce the smell in a bottled form, and blasted my hotel room with it. It’s not that I hate the smell…I just don’t understand how they all smell so similar. Any thoughts?

Genius Bar

Apr 01, 2008 in Uncategorized

After recording today JR and I headed off to the Apple store to fix a little problem with his iPod. After making our appointment and talking with the genius we were told he should replace the iPod for 30 bucks or replace and get more AppleCare for 60. He went with the 60. Fast forward an hour or so… No problem with the iPod, just a messed up file making the
sync lock up. So now JR has a new iPod he didn’t need… But that doesn’t kick Unhindered off the mac train. Alltogether we have 4 iPhones, 7 Apple computers, and 4 iPods. Let’s hear it for Apple… even if it did cost JR 60 bucks…
