Unhindered Blog

It has come to my attention that many folks don’t actually know how a record is made… the process if you will. Well, today sirs and madams, I am here to tell you. BUT! We’re gonna make things a little exciting and post things as we go, take you on the journey with us. A little catching up… First one writes songs… obvious. Usually they’re not exactly perfect. At this point  we’re in “pre-production” which is where we’ll get the songs sounding right and get some rough takes of each instrument down to hear what things will sound like and get prepared to lay down drum tracks. Tomorrow we’ll be at the infamous Southern Tracks Recording here in Atlanta laying down drums… the official day 1. Stay tuned for updates!!! 

So for those who haven’t been keeping up (as if you could keep up with things we haven’t talked about), we’ve been pretty stinkin busy in the studio for quite a while writing music and now, wrapping up pre-production. What might we be “pre-producing” you ask? Well, it MIGHT be a new Unhindered record! That’s right kiddos, in the next week or so we’ll be heading into the studio to lay down drums (the first tracks) of the new record.  So how does this include you? I’m glad you asked… A moment of truth: One of the reasons we set up this blog was to create dialog among you folks, as well as effectively create a network of you cool people who love God and stand behind what we (Unhindered) do. I think it is safe to say at this point that it’s working! Well since this is really the first public mention of a new record there must be significance to it being posted here huh? There is…  In the coming weeks we have intentions of frequently posting videos of what’s going on in the studio during the creation of this project. Some videos will be funny, some short, some long, some serious, some horribly shot I’m sure… Anyways, we want you to help get the word out that a new record is on the way and people should come visit the blog, website, myspace, and sign up for the mailing list to get updates on release dates as well as album release party info that I’m sure you’ll all want to be a part of! So thank you guys again for all your support and keep an eye out for those videos! 

So I must admit that it’s been a while since we’ve played a big home town event. It’s been awesome to end the Acquire the Fire tour for this year here in Atlanta with friends. Tonight we had the chance to hang with some of the Teen Mania staff over at the house with some other old friends and it’s just been a good ol’ time… I’m giddy. When’s the last time you guys got to hang with someone you hadn’t been with in a while?

Ok guys… Sorry it’s taken a bit to get this up. You guys all wrote some pretty good stuff. BUT when we read this one, we knew it was a winner. There were just too many inside references to let it slide. So without further delay… 

It’s 8:35 and a bit questionable at this point as to whether or not we’ll actually make it to Tacoma in time to play tonight. We miiiiiigggghhhttt have misread the flight itinerary (we thought it said 8:30 AM… it was 6:30… yeaahhhh… we missed that).  Waiting at the gate right now and we’ll connect (hopefully) in Denver… Hope to see you guys in WA tonight!UPDATE:: We made it to Tacoma and had a great event out here. Bout to hit the bed to get a couple of hours of sleep before our 3:30 lobby call to fly home!!! Peace!
